The Hevesy Laboratory is part of the Center for Nuclear Technologies (Nutech) at the Technical University of Denmark and is located at the Risø campus north of Roskilde. The Laboratory has a long standing history in carrying out research, development, and production of radioactive drugs for diagnostics (PET) and treatment. In more recent years, the research also includes radiation biology and a newly established radio-biology laboratory. In addition, the newly build linear accelerator (VARIAN) complements the existing g-ray sources available at Nutech to perform exciting new research. One focus of the radio-biology laboratory at Hevesy is to investigate the potential use of Auger-electron emitters for internal radiotherapy.

The work will include addressing questions concerning low dose and low dose rate effects after exposure to sparsely ionizing radiation such as g-rays, X-rays and photons as well as Auger-electron emitters. Experience with standard cell culture techniques would be preferable.
The candidate will be working with Dr. Torsten Groesser under the leadership of Prof. Mikael Jensen and Dr. Dennis Ringkjøbing Elema (Head of Division) in an interdisciplinary group of physicists, chemists, and biologists.
