Medical and Natural Science Research Funds in Denmark, 2014

The Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Committee for Medical and Natural Science Research hereby calls for grant proposals for:
Research projects in Denmark, within the fields of clinical and basic biomedical research.
Objectives:
The Novo Nordisk Foundation wishes to promote Danish health research of high international quality.
The Foundation’s Committee for Medical and Natural Science Research therefore calls for grant proposals for projects to be carried out in Denmark within the fields of clinical and basic biomedical research.
Grants are available for equipment, consumables including experimental animals and salaries for scientific and technical assistance as well as research year students.
You cannot apply for own salary, salary for PhD students or overhead.
You may apply for funding for up to three years.
The funding requested must be between DKK 300,000 and 700,000 per budget year. Applications requesting funding outside these figures will not be considered.
Guidelines:
The proposal may be written in Danish or English.
Evidence to support the applicant’s ability to conduct independent research at a high international level will form an important part of the assessment.
In addition, the Foundation wishes to support young researchers who are establishing themselves as independent researchers, with their own research projects and research teams.
Applications from PhD students and postdoctoral research fellows who conduct research under supervision will not be considered.
You can hold only one project grant from the Committee for Medical and Natural Science Research at the same time.
You cannot apply for funding for the same project from the Novo Nordisk Foundation's Nordic Research Committee within the same calendar year.
Tandem Programme:
The best translational proposal will be selected to write an application for funding by the Foundation’s Tandem Programme, in which a basic and clinical researcher establishes an interdisciplinary collaboration.
The researcher selected for the Tandem Programme will be invited to submit a three-year research proposal.
