ICFO is now accepting applications for postdoctoral fellowship programme. This position is eligible for applicants of all nationalities to work in a multi-disciplinary project working with physicists, engineers and neonatologists.
The students at ICFO benefit from the extensive course offerings of local universities and focused instruction by ICFO professors while carrying out research activities at ICFO groups with local and international collaborators.

Course Level: Fellowship is available to pursue postdoctoral degree programme.
Study Subject: The position is available in biomedical optics for clinical neonatology. The focus is on neuro-monitoring at the intensive care but includes collaborations in neuroscience applications of the functional imaging of the neonatal brain.
Eligibility: Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for this Fellowship:-
-Candidates must hold an internationally recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the near future) in a relevant field.
-Scientific background: Previous experience with diffuse optics for medicine including instrumentation as well as theoretical background. Knowledge in dynamic light scattering and time resolved spectroscopic methods are a plus. Demonstrated experience in translational research in particular in clinical settings is important. A strong publication record and the contact information of three referees is needed.
-Computational background must include advanced Matlab/Octave, C/C++ programming, LabView (or similar hardware control platforms). Demonstrated strength in other similar programming languages/platforms may replace some of the languages.
-Experience with opto-electronic instrumentation including photo-multiplier tubes, avalanche photo diodes, photon-counting hardware, basic micro-controller use is a plus.

Test Requirement: ICFO needs an indication of the average of applicants final overall grade obtained in their studies, or the overall qualification obtained in PhD-studies (for applicants with a PhD-degree).
