Clinician-Scientist Development Award in Multiple Sclerosis, USA 2016 MS

The American Academy of Neurology, the American Brain Foundation, and the National MS Society are pleased to announce a three-year award to support the training of young physicians committed to a career in academic medicine in an environment where problems in multiple sclerosis are addressed with the most current scientific tools.

Duration of award(s): MS Clinician-Scientist Development Award supports 3 years of research training.
What does it cover? The salary is approximately $75,000 per year (stipend from National MS Society based on postgraduate level plus $25,000 from the American Academy of Neurology and the American Brain Foundation).

Selection Criteria: Applications are reviewed by the National MS Society Fellowship Advisory Committee and the American Academy of Neurology and must be approved by both. Evaluation criteria include the potential for the trainee to develop into a productive physician scientist, the strength of the training environment and training plan, and the quality of the research proposal.

Eligibility: There is no citizenship requirement, but applicants must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree, be at the PGY4 or PGY5 stage of an accredited residency program in the US, and hold a US medical license. Contact the National MS Society to confirm eligibility.
Scholarship Open for International Students: There is no citizenship requirement for this award.
