Beijing Government Scholarship: The Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS) was established by Beijing Municipal Government, aiming to provide tuition fees fully or partially to the international students studying or applying for studying in Beijing. Its administrative office is the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Beijing Municipal Commission of Educations, which is in charge of project establishment, review, acceptance and daily management of the Beijing Government Scholarship Program. The international students applying for the Beijing Government Scholarships shall normally submit relevant materials to the universities in Beijing that he/she hope to apply by the end of February every year.

For specific application means, you can consult the government departments and relevant institutions responsible for dispatching students abroad in your country, Chinese embassies or consulates; you can also visit the Web of Beijing Municipal Commission of Education (http://www.bjedu.gov.cn) to inquiry; or directly apply to the universities qualified to issue such scholarship in Beijing.

The international students who come to study in Beijing can apply for the following three categories of scholarships:
Chinese Government Scholarship: The Chinese Government has established various scholarship projects to provide financial support to students, teachers and scholars from all over the world to study and engage in research activities in Chinese colleges and universities. The international students who have obtained the Chinese government scholarship will be arranged to study in a Chinese university commissioned by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has established the Chinese Government Scholarship Program and entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as “CSC”) to handle the enrollment of international students and carry out the routine management of this scholarship program students in China. Since 2008, CSC has issued scholarship quotas of independently admitting international students to the partial Chinese colleges and universities, so international students can also directly consult and apply to the Chinese colleges and universities for the Chinese government scholarship.

CSC plans to take three years from 2008 to 2010 to double the Chinese government scholarship quotas and expand the enrollment year by year with an annual increase of about 3,000 students.
The Chinese Government Scholarship is classified into a full scholarship and partial scholarship. If you want to apply for the Chinese government scholarship, please contact the China Scholarship Council to obtain the latest information.

UniversityScholarship: Mostcollegesanduniversitieshaveestablishedspecialscholarships forinternational students such as admission scholarship. Some universities also have established scholarships for international students at faculty level. For detailed information, please consult the international student administration department which you apply for.

The Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship for International Students scheme is established by the Beijing Municipal Government. The Beijing Scholarship for International Students is a special fund set up as tuition scholarship for those international students who are either currently enrolled or planning to attend higher learning institutions in Beijing.

1. Categories of Applicants and Duration of Scholarship



1) Applicants for Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Chinese universities and colleges in Beijing region: duration of scholarship should be under 4 years.
2) Applicants for Chinese language training or relevant advanced studies in Chinese universities and colleges in the Beijing region: the duration of scholarship should be under one year.
3) Scholars and international students for specialized training in Chinese universities and colleges in Beijing region: the duration of scholarship should be under one year.
4) Exchange students or students with outstanding contributions to international education in Beijing: the duration of scholarship should be under one year.

2. Scholarship Rates



The Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship for International Students only covers tuition fees. According to the applicants' status, the allowance for scholarship students can be classified into 5 types:
1) 40,000 RMB/year for a Doctoral degree
2) 30,000 RMB/year for a Masters degree
3) 20,000 RMB/year/ for a Bachelor degree
4) 10,000 RMB/year for a Senior training or long term language program
5)5,000 RMB/year for Exchange students or students with outstanding contributions to international education in Beijing.

3. Eligibility



1) Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
2) Educational background and age limit
2.1) Applicants for undergraduate studies in Beijing must have completed senior high school with good grades and be under the age of 30. Applicants for Masters degree studies in Beijing must have Bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35. Applicants for Doctoral degree studies in Beijing must have Master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
2.2) Applicants for advanced studies must have an undergraduate degree or be in the second year of a university course and be under the age of 50. Applicants for long term language study must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 60.
2.3) Visiting scholar candidates in Beijing must have a Masters or higher degree or hold academic titles of associate professor or higher, and be under the age of 50.
3) Requirement for applicant’s language proficiency
Requirement for the applicant’s language proficiency is based on the requirement of the academic programs and determined by the individual higher learning institution.
4) An applicant receives financial support from other Chinese government scholarship programs or organizations/agencies would not be eligible for the Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship for International Students

4. Application procedures, timing and documents



1) Application procedures
1.1) Applicants submit documents to the Chinese government office in charge of sending international students to China, relevant offices in the applicants’ home country, or the Chinese diplomatic missions or embassies in the applicants’ home country.
1.2) Applicants may register via the web with the Beijing Education Commission http://www.bjedu.gov.cn
1.3) Applicants may submit documents to Chinese institutions in Beijing directly.
2)Application timing.
All application materials should be handed to the relevant university or college before the end of February.
3) Application documents (completed in English or Chinese)
Applicants must fill in and provide the following documents truly and correctly.
3.1) Application Form for Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship (can be collected from the institutions in Beijing or downloaded from the school’s website)
3.2) Highest diploma and transcript (notarized photocopy).
3.3) Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (printed by the Chinese quarantine authority and only for those whose period of study in China is six months or greater).
3.4) Applicants for Degree study or specialized research should submit a study plan (no more than 400 words) or a research plan (no more than 800 words).
3.5) Applicants for music and fine arts are requested to submit personal works.
3.6) Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the legal documents of their legal guardians in China.
3.7) Whether the applicants are admitted or not application documents will not be returned.

5. Selection of Institutions and Specialties



Applicants may choose institutions and specialties from the Chinese institutions of higher education in the Beijing region. Please check the details or submit the application forms to the institutions directly.
6. Approvals and Notification



1)The institutions of higher education in Beijing will review all the application materials and the application materials of qualified applicants for the scholarship will be forwarded to the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students to make a further review.
2) The institutions will send the Scholarship Letter, the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China to the applicants who will be officially confirmed as Scholarship students three months before the opening of new academic year.
3) The application will be seen as invalid and will not be processed if the applicants are not qualified or the application materials are inconsistent with the recruitment regulations or are incomplete.
4) Each year the schools will review the academic performance of each scholarship recipient. The scholarship recipient would disqualify for the scholarship when he or she violates Chinese law and regulations, violates the school rules or the relevant rules and guidelines of the Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship for International Students.
After students finish study, institutions will conduct a comprehensive review on each student, and then send the report to the Leadership Group for Establishing the Scholarship Program for International Students to put on records.

La Commission pour l'Education de Beijing offre pour la première fois une bourse d'études pour étudiants et chercheurs étrangers. Tout étudiant ou chercheur résidant à l'étranger ainsi que tout étudiant étranger faisant des études à Beijing pourra solliciter une bourse d'entre 20 000 et 40 000 yuans par année scolaire.

1. Valeurs de la bourse
La bourse couvre seulement les frais de scolarité, et est dans les cinq catégories ci-dessous :
a. Boursiers pour un doctorat: 40,000 RMB/personne/an.
b. Boursiers pour un Master: 30,000 RMB/personne/an.
c. Étudiants boursiers senior: 10,000 RMB/personne/an
d. Bourse pour des étudiants en échange (étudiants à long terme ou étudiants transférant leurs compétences)  et aux étudiants apportant une contribution spéciale à l’échange et la coopération internationale dans des domaines essentiels.

3. Eligibilité
(1)Les candidats ne peuvent pas être chinois.
(2)Ils doivent être en bonne santé.
(3)Antécédents académiques et limites d’âges comme suit :
•Les candidats au master doivent être licenciés et avoir moins de 35 ans.
•Les candidats au doctorat doivent avoir un master et âgés de moins de 40 ans.
•Les étudiants visiteurs doivent avoir complétés au moins deux années d’études de premier cycle et âgés de moins de 45 ans
•Les étudiants visiteurs seniors doivent avoir un master ou plus, ou posséder des titres académiques de professeurs associés ou plus et avoir moins de 50 ans.
•Les boursiers ne doivent pas bénéficier d’une bourse du gouvernement chinois au même moment.
4. Candidature
Les candidats doivent faire leur demande á l'école supérieure CAAS avant le 31 Mai. Les étudiants visiteurs peuvent le faire toute l’année.
5. Documents nécessaires
(1)Formulaire de demande de bourse d'études gouvernement municipal de Beijing (peut être recueillies auprès des institutions à Pékin ou téléchargés à partir de l'école sur le site )
(2)Copie certifiée du diplôme le plus élevé.
(3)Copie certifiée des transcriptions d’études les plus hautes.
(4)Deux lettres de recommandation d’au moins deux professeurs agrégés ou experts dans les domaines connexes.
(5)Un plan de recherches ou d’études (de pas moins de 400 mots pour un étudiant visiteur et 500 mots pour les étudiants du troisième cycle)
(6)Liste des publications
Si les documents sont rédigés dans une langue autre que l’Anglais, une traduction certifiée doit être fournie.
(7)Vérification de l’employeur ou de l’unité de travail actuel
Les candidats peuvent se inscrire via le web avec la Commission Education de Beijing http://www.bjedu.gov.cn ou soumettre des documents aux institutions chinoises à Pékin directement.
vous pouvez également visiter le Web de Pékin Commission municipale de l'Education ( http://www.bjedu.gov.cn ) à l'enquête; ou se adresser directement aux universités qualifiés pour délivrer de telles bourses d'études à Beijing.
6. Demande de visa
Les étudiants internationaux doivent demander les visas X ou F pour pouvoir étudier en Chine à l’ambassade ou au consulat général de Chine avec les originaux des documents et un exemplaire photocopié de la notification d’admission, le visa d’études en Chine formulaires JW201/JW202, le formulaire d’examen médical pour étrangers (original et photocopie) et un passeport en cours de validité.
Tout document incomplet ou sans signature du médecin traitant, sceau officiel de l’hôpital ou photographie non recouverte du candidat est invalide. La validité des résultats médicaux est valable pour une période de six mois. Tous les candidats doivent tenir compte de ceci lors de la prise du rendez vous de la visite.
