Objectifs The African Development Bank’s Field Office in South Sudan (SSFO) was established to strengthen dialogue between the Bank and the Republic of South Sudan. This dialogue is expected to enhance and foster the design of the Bank’s development policies and programs. SSFO seeks to assist and facilitate the execution of the core operational functions of the Bank Group in identifying, preparing, appraising and implementing projects and programs in South Sudan, and follow-up with a view to enhancing portfolio quality, promotion of participatory approaches, alignment with country and regional priorities and enhancing development impact. The Bank invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of Secretary, to be based in Juba, South Sudan. This is a local position which does not attract international terms and conditions. Only South Sudanese Nationals or Applicants Who Already Have the Right to Live and Work in South Sudan Will Be Considered for This Position. The Bank Does Not Support Applications for Work Permits and Relocation.Fonctions et responsabilités Under the general supervision of the Resident Representative, the Secretary will:
- Provide general secretarial assistance to the Office and visiting Bank missions,
- Provide administrative support to staff and assist in preparation and logistical planning of Team and Office events.
- Draft, edit, proofread, format and finalize documents and presentations to ensure quality of documents before signature or approval.
- Support office management and prepare minutes of meetings.
- Maintain office records and reference files on Bank Group operations.
- Perform any other office management duties as required.
Critères de sélection Notamment compétences, connaissances et expérience souhaitablesAt least a Bachelor’s degree or its university equivalent in Business Administration or other related field; or Matric Certificate or Advanced Level Certificate plus four (4) years further study in professional secretarial and office management qualifications.
- A minimum of four (4) years’ relevant experience.
- A good track record in secretarial and office management.
- Ability to organize data and information retrieval systems.
- Good filling and organizational skills, with good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate and write effectively in English, with a working knowledge of the French language.
- Competence in the use of Bank standard software (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). Knowledge of SAP is desirable.
