Atlas of Topographical Anatomy of the Domestic Animals

The first English edition of this major work by Prof. Popesko, of the Kosice School of Veterinary Medicine, Czechoslovakia, was published in 1971 [VB 42, abst. 4404]. The present second English edition has been "adapted from the English translation" by Prof. R. Getty of the Department of Veterinary Anatomy, Iowa State University, who was responsible for the previous edition. It still comprises three volumes (within one binding) on 'head and neck', 'trunk' and 'limbs and pelvic regions'. The 610 beautiful colour plates are largely unchanged (apart from a slightly smaller size), but the captions have been modified where necessary to bring them in line with Nomina Anatomica Veterinaria 1973. Popesko's prefaces to each volume are dated 1975, and the whole edition was evidently first published in Czechoslovakia in 1977.
