Brief description:

The Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), awards various postgraduate scholarships to foreign scholars and researchers: University scholarships (Swiss universities, Federal Institutes of Technology as well as Universities of Applied Sciences) and Arts scholarships (schools of music and fine arts, only for a limited number of countries).

These scholarships provide graduates from all fields with the opportunity to pursue doctoral or postdoctoral research in Switzerland at one of the public funded university or recognized institution.

The application deadline falls between September and November 2015, depending on the Swiss Embassy to which the applications have to be submitted.

Par l'intermédiaire de la Commission fédérale des bourses pour étudiants étrangers (CFBE), la Confédération suisse offre divers types de bourses de 3ème cycle à des chercheurs étrangers:

bourses de recherche des hautes écoles (universités suisses, écoles polytechniques fédérales et hautes écoles spécialisées)
bourses artistiques (conservatoires et hautes écoles d'art, uniquement pour un nombre restreint de pays).

Ces bourses offrent, à des chercheurs diplômés (post-gradués) de toutes disciplines, la possibilité de poursuivre leurs recherches doctorales ou postdoctorales au sein des Hautes écoles suisses reconnues par l'Etat.

Les délais sont différents pour chaque pays (cf. ci-dessous). La CFBE prend sa décision concernant les bourses 2016-2017 jusqu'en mi-mai 2016.

Borse d’eccellenza della Confederazione svizzera per ricercatori e artisti stranieri, anno accademico 2016-2017

Attraverso la Commissione federale delle borse per studenti stranieri (CFBS) la Confederazione svizzera offre ai ricercatori stranieri diversi tipi di borse di 3° ciclo:

borse di ricerca delle scuole universitarie (università svizzere, politecnici federali e scuole universitarie professionali)
borse artistiche (conservatori e accademie di belle arti, solo per un numero ristretto di Paesi)

Queste borse permettono ai ricercatori laureati (master) di tutte le discipline di proseguire le proprie ricerche di dottorato o postdottorato all'interno delle scuole universitarie svizzere riconosciute dallo Stato.

Per sapere quali sono le borse disponibili per il vostro Paese utilizzate il menú a tendina qui sotto. Troverete tutte le informazioni necessarie compresi i criteri di idoneità e la procedura di candidatura.

Per ogni paese la scadenza di candidatura è diversa (vedi sotto). La CFBS decide sulle borse 2016-2017 fino metà maggio 2016.

Il bando di concorso per le borse di studio dell'anno accademico 2017-2018 è pubblicato su questo sito internet a partire da agosto 2016.

Bundes-Exzellenz-Stipendien für ausländische Forschende und Kunstschaffende für das akademische Jahr 2016–2017

Die Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft gewährt über die Eidgenössische Stipendienkommission für ausländische Studierende (ESKAS) verschiedene Typen von Postgraduierten-Stipendien für ausländische Forschende:

Hochschul-Forschungsstipendien (Schweizer Universitäten, Eidgenössische Technische Hochschulen und Fachhochschulen)
Kunststipendien (Konservatorien und Kunsthochschulen, nur für eine beschränkte Anzahl Länder).

Diese Stipendien bieten diplomierten (postgraduierten) Forschenden aller Fachrichtungen die Möglichkeit, ihre doktoralen oder postdoktoralen Forschungsarbeiten an einer öffentlichen oder vom Staat anerkannten Schweizer Hochschule weiterzuführen.

Alle erforderlichen Informationen sind darin enthalten, einschliesslich der Anforderungskriterien sowie des Bewerbungsverfahrens bei den Schweizer Botschaften.

Die Eingabefristen unterscheiden sich je nach Land (siehe unten). Die ESKAS entscheidet bis spätestens Mitte Mai 2016 über die Stipendienauswahl 2016-2017.

Die Stipendienausschreibung für das akademische Jahr 2017-2018 erfolgt online ab August 2016.
