Scholarship benefits
DAAD scholarship supports selected programmes with a variety of full or partial scholarships.
Methods of Application
If you have no private financial resources or cannot obtain a scholarship from your government, company or an international organisation, you may apply for a DAAD scholarship - either full or partial. Applicants from developing countries are encouraged to apply.
All applicants must submit a DAAD application form, a hand-signed CV and supporting documents. DAAD application forms are available from the German Embassies, the DAAD offices abroad, directly from the University or on the DAAD website.
Applications from Cameroon and Nigeria must be submitted via the German Embassy (please contact the German Embassy in time regarding information about the deadlines). Applicants from the People's Republic of China are asked to submit an APS Certificate, as well as 2 address labels written in Chinese characters with their application documents.
Please be sure to address applications to the postgraduate course directly! Applications sent via e-mail to the DAAD cannot be considered during the selection process.
It is important to carefully read through the complete set of required documents (as stated on this page) and to visit the official website (link to it is below) for complete information.
DEADLINES:
Please contact the respective postgraduate course regarding the application deadline, because the application deadlines may vary from university to university. Please also check the relevant deadlines in the official DAAD brochure. Applicants should ensure to check information regarding course-specific application closing dates directly with the individual universities because they may vary from the general deadlines listed below.
As a general rule, the deadline for scholarship applications is between October to December 2015 (depending on the German institution).
Admissions:
The selection process for admission into all postgraduate courses listed in the DAAD booklet lasts from the end of October until February.
PLEASE NOTE:
Scholarships cannot be awarded without the official DAAD application form. Many courses, however, have their own forms, which must be submitted in addition to the DAAD application form.
One scholarship application per postgraduate course is sufficient.
Applications via email will not be accepted.
Late applications cannot be considered!
Admission:
The postgraduate course and/or the university decide on admission after consideration of the application documents. Admission to the university is a prerequisite for receiving a DAAD scholarship. However, applicants do not need to request early or pre-admission to the university
Application Deadline: 15 October - December 2015
Open to International students: Yes
