Résumé Our aim is to aggregate researchers, academicians and scientists from the Gastroenterology & Urology community and to create an avenue towards robust exchange of information on technological advances, new scientific achievements, and the effectiveness of various regulatory programs towards Gastroenterology & Urology. Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders affect the esophagus, stomach, and small and large intestines. The most common are ulcers, acid reflux disease, and irritable bowel syndrome. Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, affects an estimated 20% of people in the U.S. each month. GERD is recurring heartburn caused by the presence of stomach acid in the esophagus, which often causes esophageal damage. This happens when the band of muscles that creates a barrier between the stomach and esophagus relaxes at inappropriate times, or is damaged. Urology is the surgical specialty that focuses on the urinary tracts of males and females, and on the reproductive system of males. The organs covered by urology include the kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, urethra, and the male reproductive organs.
