This conference brings together leaders in the field of RNA silencing from around the world with the specific goal of exploring these emerging new functions, and relating them to what is known about existing mechanisms. Participants will explore their implications for real-world problems in plant biotechnology, plant breeding, genetic modification and plant defense for solutions in sustainable agriculture and bioenergy. | Sujets | genetics, plant science, plant biology, processing, noncoding, cell biology | Page web | http://www.keystonesymposia.org/15G1 | Contact | Attendee Services; Tél.: [970-262-1230 or 800-253-0865]; Email.: info@keystonesymposia.org | | | | | 6.EMBO Practical Course — In vivo plant imaging | Dates | 09 Mar 2015 → 15 Mar 2015 | [ID=638773] | Lieu | Heidelberg, Allemagne | Résumé | This course will teach participants the practical aspects of live-imaging plant tissues. Plants are quite different to animals in many ways. For instance they typically develop much more slowly and cells do not migrate. Their overall morphologies are also very different and the presence of cell walls presents challenges optically. Over many years, certain laboratories have developed specialised imaging techniques optimised for plants. However despite these advances, the adoption of these techniques by the wider plant research community has been extremely limited. These specialised techniques will be taught to help promote their wider adoption. The course will cover the physical preparation of samples from different parts of the plant as well as time-lapse imaging strategies and image analysis approaches and uses. | Sujets | imaging, plant development, modelling, time-lapse, GFP | Page web | http://www.embl.de/training/events/2015/PLA15-01/index.html | Contact | Diah Yulianti , EMBL Heidelberg ; Tél.: [+49 (0) 6221 387 8797]; Email.: events@embl.de | | | | | 7.EMBO Workshop — Mechanisms of plant speciation | Dates | 09 Jui 2015 → 13 Jui 2015 | [ID=638947] | Lieu | Norrtälje, Suède | Sujets | Plant Biology | Page web | http://www.embo.org/events | | | | | | | 8.IPPC — The XVII International Plant Protection Congress | Dates | 24 Aou 2015 → 27 Aou 2015 | [ID=647439] | Lieu | Berlin, Allemagne | Résumé | On behalf of the International Association for the Plant Protection Sciences (IAPPS) and the local organisations responsible for organising this International Plant Protection Congress series, we are pleased to invite you to attend and contribute to this 18th Congress. The program of activities being developed is aimed to address many of the key issues faced by farmers, governments and plant protection scientists in meeting the challenge of designing and implementing appropriate and sustainable plant protection measures. | Page web | http://www.ippc2015.de/ | | | | | 9.Aquatic Plants 2015 — 14th International Symposium on Aquatic Plants | Dates | 14 Sep 2015 → 18 Sep 2015 | [ID=648796] | Lieu | Edinburgh, Royaume-Uni | Résumé | The aim of the conference is to promote debate on all issues relating to the science and management of aquatic vegetation.
