| Wollongong City Council Engineering Scholarship Wollongong City Council is offering a work integrated learning scholarship to Civil or Environmental Engineering students who are willing to base their thesis on a topic that is directly related to managing Wollongong City Council Civil projects. This scholarship has been offered each year since 2008. UOW students are given the opportunity to gain valuable and relevant work experience in the field of civil engineering, whilst also receiving financial assistance. Criteria
- Successful applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree at the University of Wollongong.
- Must be enrolled in 3rd year (2014) of a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil or Environmental).
- The successful applicant must have achieved and maintain a credit average for duration of scholarship (minimum 65 WAM)
- Applicants must be available for work experience during academic session or at the end of their third year. Scheduling of experimental placement is to be negotiated between the Scholar and Sponsor at the time of offer and cannot impose on the successful applicants study timetable.
- The successful applicants thesis would then commence in their fourth (4th) year. The aim of this thesis will be determined after selection of the successful student, and the topic will be in line with managing Wollongong City Council Civil projects.
- The successful applicant will have an interest in learning and developing a career in infrastructure planning or management.
- The successful applicant will be well organised with good time management skills.
- The successful applicant will have excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- The successful applicant will have excellent skills in Microsoft Office.
- The successful applicant will be flexible, professional and show attention to detail.
- The successful applicant will be well presented.
- Must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia
