(www.governance.uwa.edu.au/policy/UP11/43) | 3. | Purpose: | The purpose of the scholarship is to provide a scholarship to a citizen of Myanmar to complete a Master of Public Health (Coursework) degree course at the University. | 4. | Value: | The scholarship provides— (a) full tuition fees for the specified degree course; (b) Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC); (c) an establishment allowance; and (d) a living allowance.
The value of the scholarship will be advertised on the University Scholarships website. | 5. | Number of scholarships available: | one scholarship is available | 6. | Duration of scholarship: | a maximum of four semesters, which are normally consecutive | 7. | Concurrent scholarships: | The scholarship may not be held concurrently with any other scholarship or award. | 8. | Eligibility requirements: | To be eligible to apply for and take up a scholarship, an applicant must— (a) be a citizen of Myanmar; (b) be residing in Myanmar at the time of application; (c) not be the subject of sanctions under the Autonomous Sanctions Act 2011 (Cth) and its Regulations1 and must not be related to a person or entity on the list of Specially Designated Nationals promulgated by the US Department of the Treasury2; and (d) be enrolled or intending to enrol full-time in the Master of Public Health (Coursework) degree course at the University.
An awardee must commence their course in the semester for which the scholarship is awarded.

- tuition fees are paid directly to the University on behalf of the recipient;
- OSHC is paid directly to the provider;
- the establishment fee is payable to the recipient on confirmation of enrolment; and
- the balance of funds will be paid to the recipient as a fortnightly stipend into a nominated bank account.
| 12. | Criteria for continuation: | The recipient must—
- continue to meet the eligibility requirements;
- make satisfactory progress in accordance with the rules for the course for which the scholarship was awarded; and
- confirm twice annually, in the manner and by the dates specified by the University, that they continue to meet the eligibility requirements of the scholarship.
| 13. | Leave and suspension of scholarship: | There are no provisions for leave for this scholarship in accordance with the structure of the Master of Public Health (Coursework), apart from the normal University shutdown period which occurs in the last week of December and first week of January each year. | 14. | Application procedure: | Applications are called for by the Graduate Research and Scholarships Office and must be submitted by the advertised closing date.
The following documentation must be attached to the application—
- an academic transcript from the tertiary institution attended by the applicant in Myanmar and English translation (certified); and
- a statement provided by the applicant declaring that they are not the subject of sanctions under the Autonomous Sanctions Act 2011 (Cth) and its Regulations1 and that the applicant is not, and is not related to, a person or entity on the list of Specially Designated Nationals promulgated by the US Department of the Treasury.2
Incomplete applications will not be considered.

| 15. | Additional Information: | Health cover
The Scholarship will cover the cost of a standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) policy for the award holder only. The awardee may wish to purchase additional OSHC if they require cover for family, or for ancillary services such as dental, optical, physiotherapy, etc. The health cover does not include ancillary benefits. | 16. | Other conditions: | The University is to have sole responsibility (without any input from the donor) for selecting the scholarship recipient, based on academic merit and in accordance with the eligibility criteria. | 17. | Publications: | Any thesis, dissertation or other publication resulting from research undertaken by the recipient while in receipt of the Woodside Myanmar Postgraduate Scholarship must acknowledge the support of the scholarship and carry the University by-line. | 18. | Intellectual property: | governed by the University Policy on: Intellectual Property
