Eligibility:	*Hold a (Research) Master’s degree in International Development Studies or related disciplines that focus on development issues (Social & Cultural Anthropology, Human Geography, Rural Sociology, etc.). Candidates who are due to graduate before October 2014 are also welcome to apply. *Excel academically, as shown in the grade transcripts and curriculum vitae; *Have a firm basis in mixed methods and (for PhD3) GIS. *Have experience with fieldwork in the respective study regions; mastering the local language (Twi) in Ghana is considered an asset; *Have an excellent written and spoken command of English;       *Have excellent organizational and social skills; *Have the ability and interest to work in a team; *Wish to pursue an academic career.

To apply for the above scholarship / award / grant you should submit the following documents and should possess the following:
*A full curriculum vitae, including publications;
*Proof of a Master’s degree, including grade transcripts. Candidates who have not completed their degree at the time of application, must provide an official grade transcript with the expected date of completion. Candidates are required to finish their Master thesis before the start of the PhD project;
*A motivation letter (maximum 400 words);
*Names and contact details of two academic references;
*A recent TOEFL or equivalent English comprehension test score (TOEFL: a minimum average of 6.5 for the total test and a minimum of 6.0 for each test component);
*In a separate PDF file: at least 1 writing sample (thesis and/or essay or and/or article) which provides evidence of fieldwork experience and ability to theorize.
