North American Scholarship
The School of Psychology at Queen's are pleased to be able to offer two North American Scholarships. The Scholarship value per year is £1,500. This scholarship is open to current and new Psychology students studying the BSc Psychology degree pathway. Students must be from either the United States of America or Canada and hold the relevant passport and visa documentation.
Scholarship holders will be expected to undertake ambassadorial duties during their studies at Queen's. These duties may include (but are not limited to):
- Identify potential contacts at home institutes (either US/Canada) and facilitate a relationship between them and the School
- Engage with PsychSoc (Psychology student society)
- Keep a website / blog of experience as an international student
- Provide a written testimonial, video and photo for use in School promotional materials
- Work with School of Psychology international advisor and Business Development Officer to:
- Promote international study opportunities (both incoming and outgoing) through events and testimonials
- Attend NI Open Day and represent the School
- Work as helper during Welcome week and student recruitment events
- Acting as tour guide around the School during visits by potential students
- Be a source of information for potential students and act as a signpost to student life
- Be a peer mentor to new international students
- Any other miscellaneous tasks agreed by staff within the School of Psychology
Eligibility:
- Be self-funded and classified as overseas for fees purposes.
- Be able to finance the remainder of tuition fees and living expenses.
- Hold and have FIRMLY accepted an offer of a study place starting in September 2014.
- The scholarships will be deducted from the tuition fees payable to Queen's in September 2014.
- Scholarships cannot be used in conjunction with any other scholarships.
- The scholarships cannot be deferred.
- The School of Psychology reserves the right to vary all or any scholarships awards and regulations at its sole discretion.
- Maintenance of the awards over the duration of the degree programme subject to achievement of 60% overall average mark each year.
